The data (A) represent intracellular Ca2+ changes with time. The arrow shows the time point for addition of SP (20 μM). DOI (5 μM) and BC (10 μM), a 5-HT2A/2C receptor and D receptor agonist, respectively, were added 10 min before treatment with SP. In the data (B) and (C), quantitative changes in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations ([Ca2+]i) and melanin contents, respectively, are expressed as a fold increase compared to negative control. BAPTA/AM (1 μM), an intracellular Ca2+ chelator, was used in the experiments. *p<0.05 compared to negative control. #p<0.05 compared to SP alone.
